At South City Church, we believe the Bible sets a precedent for church's to follow in how they are lead. Ultimately South City is lead by Christ since all those who have come to faith in Him, belong to Him. As we attempt to be Biblical in how we lead each other, we see a clear pattern in Scripture of a plurality of leaders. In other words, there is not just one pastor/elder but many, all equal in their leadership but often distinct in their function. This precedent is an acknowledgement that spiritually shepherding a church should not and cannot be accomplished by just one man. For a more robust explanation of what we believe the Bible says about pastoral leadership and how we are to lead, see our statement on Eldership in our Church Constitution and By-Laws.
Blake was born in Cordova, AL and at the age of seven the Lord saved him. Early in life Blake felt the call to preach the gospel and serve the local church with his life. After his ordination in 2007 Blake has served the church as pastor ever since. He moved to Mobile to attend the University of Mobile where he graduated with his Bachelors in Theology. In 2010 he married his wife Kayse and they had their first child Abigail in 2013. While pastoring in Eldridge, AL at Eldridge Baptist Church, God began to lead he and Kayse back to Mobile to explore church planting while serving South City Church. In 2014 South City Church called him to serve as a Pastor. His passion is to see each believer living fully devoted lives for the Lord by preaching the gospel and loving their neighbor.
Before the merger with South City in 2015, Tim served Living Hope Church as Pastor beginning in 2012. He was born in Ohio and raised in Jacksonville, FL where he later earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of North Florida in 2002. In 2008, He received a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He then began work on his doctorate from Southeastern, which he completed in 2012.
Growing up in a pastor's home, Tim was confronted early and often with the Gospel and God saved him at an early age. He submitted to God's ministry call in the 8th grade and upon his graduation from High School began to serve in youth ministry. He has served in churches in Florida, North Carolina, and Alabama since 1998. He moved to Mobile in 2005 and married his wife Laurie in 2007. They have three children, Annabelle Grace (2012), Davis James (2013), and Charlotte Elisabeth (2016). Tim and Laurie originally joined Living Hope as members in 2011 after a prayer filled journey to find a local congregation that shared their theological convictions and enthusiasm for God, His Word, and Gospel Growth. As their pastor, Tim led Living Hope to merge with South City church in 2015. Tim's prayer for South City is that they continue in the pursuit of reflecting God's glory in their worship, in how they conduct their lives together, in their proclamation of the Gospel, and in their ministry work.
Daniel New was a founding member and elder of Living Hope Church before leading the merger with South City in 2015. He and his wife Jennifer are members of South City because they feel called to be part of a church that is about unashamed proclamation of the Gospel. Daniel knows South City to be a group of believers who are willing to sacrifice their own needs for the sake of loving each other and the Gospel. Daniel was originally called to pastoral ministry during the planting phase of Living Hope and continues to pastorally serve @ South City. He has assisted with our City Groups, serving in any way he can, often behind the scenes. God saved Daniel in 2008. He was raised in a non-Christian home, and after attending church a few times as a child he was baptized and thought he was saved. After high school, he was discipled by members of a local church, many who would become the founding member of Living Hope. During this time, Daniel realized that God had saved him and had made Christ his treasure. Daniel and Jenifer were married in 2013 and have one child, Rose (2015).
Daniel graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2013 with a degree in something you've never heard of. He is currently seeking a Master's Degree at South Alabama in computer hacking.

Kyle was born and raised in the Glorious Republic of Texas and still calls Lubbock, TX his hometown. Saved at the age of seven, he grew up in a Christian home where both of his parents sought to bring the truths of scripture to life through their family.
During his freshman year @ The University at Texas Tech, Kyle’s family walked through an incredibly difficult time as the Lord called his mother home after a three and half year battle with cancer. Through his grief God lead Kyle to abandon his pursuit of a medical degree and to pursue pastoral ministry. After serving as an intern at his local church during his undergraduate studies, upon his graduation, he served another church as their youth and college pastor. It was there that he met his wife Carrie.
After being married for a few years, the Wiley’s sensed the Lord leading them out of pastoral ministry and into a focus on missions. They would move to the Dallas-area in 2008 to go on staff with a missions organization, where Kyle would focus on church planting and leading teams to assist in evangelism around the globe. With a growing heart for SE Asia, they launched LifeVesting International in 2015 and relocated to Mobile. Kyle, Carrie and their four children: Laura Kate, Shepherd, Fischer, Archer started attending South City soon after their arrival and joined a couple months later.
It is Kyle’s hope to continue to see South City impact the nations with the gospel - in Mobile, in the US and around the globe - and to continue to see disciples made within the local body.
